Hawaiian Airlines Overview:

Hawaiian Airlines originated on January 30, 1929, as Inter-Island Airways. Their first fleets were a Bellanca monoplane and 2 8-seater Sikorsky amphibian aircraft. By 1930, the airline had carried over 10,000 passengers, and in 1941, the name was officially changed to Hawaiian Airlines. On December 7, 1941, one of the Hawaiian Airlines planes was hit by Japanese fire at Pearl Harbor, and amazingly, no one was hurt, and the event was recorded on Ripley’s “Believe It Or Not.”

In 1952, Hawaiian Airlines was the first airline in history to win the National Safety Council Award. In 1960, the first commercial jet service was introduced that flew from Los Angeles to Hawaii. And the first all-female crew conducted a U.S. air carrier in 1979. In 2001, the new fleet Boeing 767 and Boeing 717 were introduced replacing the DC-9 and DC-10 jets. Then in 2010, the first Airbus arrived that began their international non-stop flights to Japan, Australia, New York, New Zealand, and China. Presently, Hawaiian Airlines offer flights to North America, the South Pacific, Asia, and all the major Hawaiian Islands.

Hawaiian Airlines provides outstanding services to passengers with state of the art entertainment influenced by authentic Hawaiian hospitality, with complimentary exquisite meals inspired by Island cuisine.
